Gypsy Purple Eyes

Channeling my inner gypsy with some cream, purple and warm brown hues today.

Today I tried Big Eyes Volume Express mascara by Maybelline. It has two brushes, one to magnify the upper lashes and one to lengthen the lower lashes.
While it worked well on my upper lashes I saw no difference with my lower lashes.

MOTD

Today's makeup is a simple blended look involving a smokey dark brown blended into a cream eyeshadow. Topped off with liquid liner and mascara by Mally. I love that mascara!

Also did a sheer lip color to created a fresher look. Used a drugstore brand peach lip color as a base and Tony Moly's lip stain for a pop of color on the inside blended out.

My Lip Miracle!

So when I hear the word Blistex I just think cold sore. I think big ugly out there exaggerated cold sore. However one wintery night this past year my loving boyfriend took pity on me, or got annoyed of me complaining non stop about my dry cracky lips, and went with me to the drug store to find a cure.
I had used Burt's Bees and Physicians Formula and Avon, all other forms of fairly inexpensive chapsticks but none would put a dint in my cracked lips. I had never had lips that stayed this chapped for so long! After scanning the section for medicated lip products for a good while I settled on Blistex Medicated Ointment. Not a the chapstick but the ointment, and I have not once regretted the buy!
The same tube has lasted me a long time, it not only cured my dry cracked lips but made them soft and oh-so-supple!!! I followed a tip on the back to apply it at least 5 minutes before applying regular lip color and it does wonders! Lip color lays smoothly down when I use this as a base!
So if anyone else out there is having chapped lip woes but doesn't want to spend a bunch of money, I too was once in your shoes and recommend you give Blistex Medicated Ointment a try. : )

Bleaching the roots!

So my natural hair color is a dull natural black, however I change up my color often, I'd say once or twice a year I go a shade of blonde. A month ago I went blonde again from a dark red brown. It was a caramel blonde but I wanted to go lighter. So I did my roots today and feathered the bleach down the shaft to lighten up the over all look and here are the results...

The icky roots (they looked worse in person)

The yellow color I got after bleaching with 20 volume
 The End Result
(the ends are a little more ashy than the roots, I'll be sure to put it on the roots only next time)
 Close up on the ends

The Base (It looks darker in person imo)
The toner, Wella T18 (white lady)
Every time I color hair I learn something more. This time I learned that even tho my roots looked a shade darker with the bleach in before I rinsed it out, it was really just the removed color molecules sitting on the outside of the shaft, they rinsed away when I rinsed it out. So I got a perfect match. I also learned to put the toner on the roots only, I'll just feather it barely onto the ends to avoid a harsh line of demarcation. See Hispanics or people with naturally darker hair CAN have lighter hair! Heehee

I hope this helps someone who has been interested in using the T18 toner, I've had my eye on it for a while but was worried it wouldn't work on darker yellow hair, but it did just fine. : D

Reviews!

So I've had a few tries of the Essentials Rich Premier Shampoo, conditioner, and mask and love them all the same. I don't notice a huge difference with just the shampoo and conditioner, they smell great though. They seemed to treat my hair the same as local drug store shampoo and conditioners would. The mask however is super softening and smells great as well. I think I'll buy the mask again.

The Intensive Hair Treatment and Cap was not bad. I left it in for longer than it recommended, and though it softened my hair it still remained quite frizzy as it dried. I also did not care for the smell much. Such a strong honey sent and even after rinsing well I still smell it. I feel like I have a beehive on my head. Oh the things we go through for beauty, I once did a home-made mixture hair mask including raw egg. Well I forgot to rinse with cold water and instead rinsed with hot... UGH I had cooked egg bits in my hair for a couple days, washing it completely out was a pain.

The eyelashes worked super well! I don't really wear them to work because I've gotten to where I could care less how I look there : / But anytime I'm out and about on a day off I enjoy the little perk of having them on.

They blend in well with my real lashes so they don't look over the top but there is still a difference with them on.

The black eyelash glue is iffy though. It's definitely not for beginners, if you change the placement of the eyelashes the black still remains where you placed it before, and it dries super quickly so you have to be precise in how you place it the first time.

Sasa Haul May 2012

So after moving out, graduating cosmetology school, then moving into a nicer bigger place, a girl hasn't got much money : / However I finally mustered up the courage, thanks to my loving boyfriend, to order and buy things for myself!
And let me tell you I was so excited for it to come in!
(although I did feel bad for spending so much on myself, $80 on vanity!)
Money's been tight lately but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do.

I ordered from Sasa.com because they had a  few products I had been eying for while. I got expedited shipping and it only took like 5 days to get here, super fast :)

First things I looked for, Essential Rich Premiere Shampoo, Conditioner, and Hair Mask! I change my hair color constantly and recently went caramel blonde. This left my hair pretty damaged, and I've used this brand before with their Nuance Airy type mask and had good results. Super excited to try this type.

The strange device that looks like a disturbing sex toy is actually a rolling skin massager. I bought it to help combat the annoying cellulite on my upper thigh. I'm 5 foot 1/2 inch tall and 110-115 and for the most part active, why I have cellulite is beyond me, but us girls gotta do what we can about it : / I also go Biore foaming face wash, it has whitening elements that I look forward to, and it smells nice! Last but not least is an Intensive Recovery Hair Treatment and Hair Cap. It had good reviews and was cheap so let's see how this goes eh?

I'm going to give this Real Doll White Veil a try, they had one that was normal, but I chose the white one because who doesn't want brighter skin??? Then as fillers (if you order 75 or more you get free shipping, or cheaper expedited shipping!) I got a false eyelash applicator, black false eyelash adhesive (super excited to try) and three pairs of falsies that I've already tried out and love.

Last but not least, Ni Goo Set Curlers!!! They come with a tool to pull your hair thru the curler. Cute spiral curls should be the result but we shall see. Hopefully it doesn't disappoint, who doesn't want perfect spiral locks???

I'll eventually post reviews on these and I shall be a living experiment to see how well they work ;)
